Some time last week I talked about my love for
Lujo Records. Well, shortly after doing so, I ordered a few CDs from their website, which I've already received in the mail. One of those CDs was
Roy, who I can't recommend enough. The band features members of Botch and These Arms Are Snakes but sound almost nothing like any of them. The band reminds me of early 90s indie rock bands like Pavement, or the Flaming Lips, or even the famous local stars hHead, with their sloppy guitars, mid to lo-fi production, and catchy lyrics. Maybe I'm just in a nostalgic, sappy mood this week, but I've been listening to this album on repeat since I got it. If you go to the
Lujo Records site, you can download another song by them. However, I've also included a third song here.
